About Me

hi i'm Michelle, I am 39 years old. I'm married to matt, with 2 children. William 13 yrs old and Isobel aged 7. I started making cards in 2010 as a way to relax after suffering with postnatal depression. Unfortunately with working life and having our second child, Isobel. who has additional needs, my crafting got pushed to one side. Having recently renovated our new house I've been able to have my own crafty space again. I'm loving unboxing all my old supplies, and buying new of course. Its mainly card making I'm enjoying, but also had a little dabble in crochet and sewing over lockdown. I've decided to keep using my blog as a place to record all my makes, if only for myself. it was a real trip down memory lane when I found this again after 8 years!!! Of course id love to share my makes with others and learn from you all along the way.

Sewing project - pen roll

Isobel is really into crafting this year. She wanted some posh pens of her own (she keeps borrowing mine), so I’ve made this to keep them safely in.

Used some Disney princess fat quarters from Aldi, with a layer of wadding. Used felt for the letters, cut with the Gemini alphabet die. Also cut some little butterflies.

Conie Fong Christmas

 Beautiful Conie Fong stamp.

Coloured with spectrum noir triblend brush markers, added a little white gel pen to highlight (need more practice with this)

Frame from Sara signature range

Poinsettia flowers cut with die and textured card stock, added sparkle pen.

Peekaboo Christmas

How cute are these little peekaboo stamped characters from crafters companion 😍. They are designed to be used with the half circle or half square aperture die, and stamped front and back. But I thought I’d try something a little different here.

I simply used a circle spellbinder die for the apertures, then stamped & die cut the characters from 3 sets. Sentiments from same sets.

Coloured with spectrum noir triblends.

Paper free in craft magazine.

SWALK Christmas

A simple but beautiful card created with CC SWALK stamped image, coloured with SN markers.

Die cuts used for flowers and corner details.

Isobel goes viral

Isobel loves to craft with me. We were making little bookmarks for nanny and aunty Laura while watching crafters tv. Isobel wanted to say hi on the chat. Her comment was then read out on air & they asked for a pic.

When her pic was shown at the end of the show, her excitement was unreal. When dad came home later, she proudly told him, ‘dad I’ve gone viral’ 🤣.

Popcorn Christmas bridge card

Popcorn the bear is a classic crafters companion range. I love this range, have all my old stamps and cd roms.

Peek a boo

How cute are these little peek a boo Christmas stamp and die sets 😍.

They come with the little character, front and back, and the large wording. I also brought the aperture die to cut out the window. I’ll be able to use this on lots of other cars designs.

Coloured with spectrum noir market pens. Though you do need to consider the ink bleeding on this design, so I stamped and cut out the image separately to stick on.

Trifold aperture card

Gorgeous stamp and die sets from crafters companion

This cute cat ‘peeking in to say hello’ set is sooooo cute.

It was a little fiddly to line everything up at first, but once I’d done it once, it was easy.

Coloured with spectrum noir markers.

Also this ‘best buddy’ set. I can’t resist anything with a dog on 😊

I’m back!!!

Hey.

So I’ve managed to log back into this blog after recently starting to craft again 😊

It’s a bit of a long story but my crafting passion got pushed out when we had our daughter Isobel, now 7. Isobel has some additional needs and managing 2 children, working as a nurse and general life commitments took over. Then 2 years ago we moved house and all my crafting supplies were boxed up for the move. We have been renovating the house and I was adamant I was having my own craft room/area again.

Finally we have completed our renovations and turned the old double garage into a large family room. I have half this space for my crafts 😉, the other half has a tv/Xbox area and Isobel’s play/craft area. Isobel loves to craft now too. She is just like her mommy. Nurture definitely beats nature 😊.

So I’m mainly back making cards, as I find this so therapeutic. I’ve also dabbled in a bit of soft crafts, making some little gift bags, bunting etc. I hope to learn more on this side of things.

So I’ll be uploading my makes here, as a place to keep my memories if nothing else. It was so magical when I found my blog and posts from 2011.
