About Me

hi i'm Michelle, I am 39 years old. I'm married to matt, with 2 children. William 13 yrs old and Isobel aged 7. I started making cards in 2010 as a way to relax after suffering with postnatal depression. Unfortunately with working life and having our second child, Isobel. who has additional needs, my crafting got pushed to one side. Having recently renovated our new house I've been able to have my own crafty space again. I'm loving unboxing all my old supplies, and buying new of course. Its mainly card making I'm enjoying, but also had a little dabble in crochet and sewing over lockdown. I've decided to keep using my blog as a place to record all my makes, if only for myself. it was a real trip down memory lane when I found this again after 8 years!!! Of course id love to share my makes with others and learn from you all along the way.

Now onto my ribbon storage......
Did you see my last post with my fab new marker pen storage? Well ive now organised my ribbons. I considered many different ways to store my ribbons, but as most of mine are odds and ends and not on reels, i decided this would be the best option.
It may not look as tidy as having them on their reels, but its very user friendly. The ribbons are grouped in colours and i can easily see what i have, and how much is left. I can now find exactly what im looking for in seconds.

I brought a ribbon storage starter set from ebay, consisting of 30 plastic ribbon holders and a small metal ring. I thought id start with this and then add to it later., you can but larger plastic holders and rings from this range.
However i was browsing in my local homesense store (bit like tk maxx) and found this 'belt organiser'. It consisted of this metal hanger and large metal rings (identical to those in the ribbon storage system, but much cheaper). so i have combined the two and think it works brilliantly!!!

New speccie Storage!!!

This is my new pen storage box. It came in unfinished mdf, ready to decorate!

I gave it a lick of white paint to match my colourscheme.

William looks just as pleased with it as me.

I have my whole collection of spectrum noir pens in it (all the 6 pen sets and all 4 of the 24 box sets).

please check out http://www.vixxcraftstorage.co.uk/
where it is also available in a 3x3 box and a 5x5 box, as well as other craft storage ideas. They also sell on ebay. Really helpful seller who made just what i asked for and super quick.

christening cake - made by my neighbour

This cake is for the christening i am making the cards. It has been made by my neighbour, kelly (kyle's mom). She has only recently started making cakes, but is creating stunning results like this. Im sure she appreciate your comments.

more christening cards......but a dodgy camera!

Ive fuinished off a couple more of the christening cards today, so thought id add them. unfortunately my camera seems to be playing up and not producing very good pics......

The frames were made with an xcut scalloped oval die i have and the little bible i had in my stash on many little ready made die cuts. i made the cross with the robo and also did the wording with it. i added liquid pearls (like stickles) to finish.

This card is to be sent from children, so i wanted it to be less formal. I created the cross with a craft robo template (tina fitch - see previous post).  the writing was also done on the robo. The baby is one of my many ready made die cuts ive brought along the way, coloured with spectrum noirs. I love his cheeky little face, he really resembles kyle (the boy being christened). I have finished with star peel offs to soften the look.

craft robo christening cards!

The little boy next door is getting christened on sunday, not only have i been asked to be godmother (huge honour), but also asked to make many of the cards from various family members.

I decided to wipe the dust off my craft robo lite and create some personal cards. these are the first 2 ive made.

I made this little bible on my robo from a file ive had a while (freebie downloaded off web). I also did the wording and book detail with the pen attachment to the robo and a gold glittery gel pen. The little bear is from my stash, thought it added a softer touch to the card. not sure if the card needs something else?

Created on the robo with a file i brought from tina fitch (check out her store for fab designs). I just added the name, for a personal touch.
